The History of Mount Carmel Alumni Foundation.

Keeping the Carmelite Heritage Commitment.

Opening its doors in 1935 to serve the needs of the Catholic community, it provided young men with the tools needed to succeed in college. The school excelled in sports, academics, and spiritually morality building. Unfortunately, in 1976, Mount Carmel High closed its doors, but the Crusaders Spirit has continued to grow throughout South Central Los Angeles supporting Catholic schools with donations raised by the Mount Carmel Alumni Foundation.

The Mount Carmel Alumni Foundation is passionate about continuing the Carmelite Heritage which is – the commitment to sustaining its spiritual, emotional, and psychological development of students in the nurturing environments of Catholic schools. These opportunities are possible through their fundraising, mentoring, and college placement assistance, for the future role models in the Greater Los Angeles.

The Foundation's mission continues today providing students with tuition assistance, mentoring, and college preparation. MCAF has connected with Catholic students, teachers, and administrators to create a bridge with lasting relationships. Mentors often become sponsors for students in need of tuition assistance. MCAF's Board of Directors has been dedicated to serving the needs of kids in Catholic schools for more than 30 years, and with the generosity of alumni and donors their mission continues to thrive!
